NY Spring 2012 FW
Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Especially in New York. Naturally in other four-season environments, leaves turn reddish brown and yellow the same way they do in Manhattan and the welcomed breeze (a reprieve from the suffocating summer heat) that prompts using a cardigan is felt by those also living off the island.

Recently over lattes and biscotti, my good and always elegantly turned-out colleague challenged my slight magazine fetish. “Why do you read so many magazines?” I rolled my eyes and brushed off his inquiry by continuing my Vogue-referenced theories on ethnic haute couture, indigenous dress and non-western textile artisans. “Seriously”, he pressed, “I know you love fashion, but would you ever even wear fashion like it’s styled in those editorials?” Gasp. No double gasp. “Bite your tongue!”, I playfully chastised him with manicured finger pointing. I paused then admitted, “No I wouldn’t necessarily wear everything I see in my mags, but that’s not really the point, now is it?” We giggled and the conversation shifted to books and another serving of biscotti.
